This is your chance to be involved in the journey of the magical Story-Weaver. Volunteer with us in February and March 2022.

We have volunteer opportunities in:
North Shields, Wallsend, Blyth, Hexham, Byker, Fenham and Newcastle City Centre.

Become a volunteer

What will you be doing?

There are a range of roles you could be involved in to make sure the event runs smoothly. You could be:

  • Welcoming visitors to the event, helping them find their way around and providing advice on how to get the best North of the Tyne, Under the Stars experience

  • Telling people about the project and the artworks

  • Manning the Welfare Hub

  • Spreading the word about the events

  • Providing support to audience members with access needs

  • If you're local - sharing your knowledge of the region

  • Offering practical help when needed such as delivering items to production staff

 If you have special skills or interests, for example if you're a qualified first aider, please let us know.


What commitment do you need to give?

North of the Tyne, Under the Stars runs on dates between the 18 February and 13 March 2022. You'll need to be available for at least one shift of 5 hours during the dates specified on the sign up form. The shifts will vary between 5:00pm – 10:00pm and 5:30pm – 10:30pm. The shifts for sign up can be found within the form in the ‘Become a volunteer’ link at the top of the page.


What is required?

To be part of this opportunity you must:

  • Be 18 years old or over

  • Be able to commit to the shifts you have chosen to sign up to

  • Have a passion for arts

  • Be an ambassador of the project to the general public

  • Be happy to be outside for long periods of time
